Here is a catch up before our first rehearsal for the 19th May concert this coming Friday.

Clearly it is important to know what exactly is being rehearsed when especially for the Symphony and so Claus has sent through the timings for the Mozart and Mahler – see below. This will help everyone and especially those who are only playing in certain movements of the Mahler.
Claus has also said that he would like to do an encore – the ‘Oriental Festival March’ from the Aladdin Suite by Nielsen. The music for the Suite – this is the first movement – should be with us for the Sunday all day rehearsal. It is scored for standard orchestra.
Looking ahead I think we need to be prepared for a rather ‘full’ stage for the Mahler -I’m trying to find a photo of when we did it the last time for reference! We will be in the usual concert outfits again as in March.
I can also confirm that we will be having the traditional end of season drinks in the bar after the concert.
